The aerospace experts of the thyssenkrupp Group will continue to handle Boeing's complete aluminium and titanium metals supply chain management. The contract comprises global purchase coordination, deadline monitoring, warehousing, processing of aluminium and titanium products, the optimization of plant material flows, and the coordination of over 550 Boeing and subcontractor production locations.
"The extension of the contract with Boeing is a recognition of our global materials, logistics and IT capabilities and confirms our role as an important supplier to the aviation industry," states Joachim Limberg, CEO of thyssenkrupp Materials Services. “We understand our customer´s high demands and challenges and offer tailor-made solutions. This allows our customer to focus on their core competencies."
For thyssenkrupp Aerospace, the renewal of the contract is the next chapter in a long-standing and successful relationship. It was back in 1998 that the US aircraft manufacturer and thyssenkrupp first became strategic partners.
"Our goal is a win-win cooperation with Boeing. As global supply chain and services provider, we will ensure optimum deliveries to their production locations", explains Hans-Josef Hoß, Board Member of thyssenkrupp Materials Services of which thyssenkrupp Aerospace is part of.
